Supervisory Board appoints Erika Rasch as Board Member for Human Resources at Volkswagen AG

At its meeting today, the Supervisory Board of Volkswagen AG appointed Erika Rasch to the Group Board of Management effective October 1, 2026, and assigned her responsibility for Human Resources. She therefore also takes on the role of Labor Director. Thomas Schäfer has served in this position on an interim basis since July 2025. Erika Rasch joins Volkswagen from the Robert Bosch Group, where she latterly held responsibility for Global Human Resources (HR).

Hans Dieter Pötsch, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Volkswagen AG, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Erika Rasch to the Group Board of Management. She has broad experience and outstanding expertise in HR in an internationally active company from the automotive sector. At the same time, she brings new perspectives and ideas that will be particularly important for the Volkswagen Group during its current transformation phase. Furthermore, she has extensive experience in the field of co-determination. These characteristics lend high credibility to her future role at Volkswagen AG. The Supervisory Board wishes Erika Rasch every success in her new function.”

In her previous role, Erika Rasch was responsible for Global Human Resources at the Robert Bosch Group. This also included developing the HR Strategy 2030, aligned with key areas such as competitiveness, growth and talent, as well as co-determination. She began her professional career at Bosch in 1997, holding posts in Controlling, followed by positions in Purchasing, before moving to Human Resources.
